HON CHAIRMAN
Who are we?
The association membership is made up of residents and plot owners on Kenya's South Coast mainland, from Likoni to Lunga Lunga.
What do we do?
The association is a non-political organisation that operates as a pressure / lobby group to maintain and, where appropriate, to improve standards of amenities and services in the area.
How do we do it?
The association’s elected committee takes members’ concerns directly to the relevant authorities, be they Government, Local Government, Parastatals or Private Industry. By maintaining records and close liaison with the above, measures of success can be made and further action taken as required. The committee meets in Diani on the last Thursday of every month. Every second meeting is a general meeting which members are encouraged to attend. Minutes are distributed after each meeting so that even non-resident members may become involved with decisions and provide input.
Areas of concern within the district:
CORRUPTION, ELECTRICITY, GARBAGE, KENYA FERRY SERVICE, LAND-GRABBING, LAND RATES, LAND RENT, MEDICAL FACILITIES, ROADS, SECURITY, TELEPHONES, WATER, NOISE POLLUTION, SIGNBOARDS, WILDLIFE, ANIMALS, FORESTS, ROAD RESERVES, ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
The above list is not in order of priority nor is it exhaustive - members concerns are considered on merit. Give us your feedback! We want to hear what you have to say.
What else can we do for you?
Have you got a new business; an up-coming event; something you want the residents of the South Coast to know about? … The SCRA has 200+ registered members and is the ideal channel for members to get information out to the community.
