Why Kwale Health Forum? Established in 2000, to tackle these enormous health burdens, KHF works in direct collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH), to network the Community; Government Ministries; Non Governmental Organisations; Community Based Organisations; Faith Based Organisations and the private sector, to avoid duplication and contribute to the advocacy, promotion and improvement of the health status of Kwale by more efficient, accessible and affordable health services.
KHF facilitates and encourages joint health activities (i.e. Health Action Days, Community Health Awareness etc.); Consultations between health and development providers; Effective communication and open dialogue; Capacity building of all stakeholders, including staff morale; Building trust and understanding. The overall immediate objective is to strengthen collaboration between and within member organisations to affect the MoH’s annual work-plan targets. (source Ministry of Health Work Plan 2005-2006).
